Thanks for the module it's really useful. One issue I have tho is that the exposed sorts are still rendered with the exposed filters. It's possible to hide these with CSS but not the most ideal solution.

I am wondering if adding a new template for sorts would be better. Then we can override the default exposed form template and exclude the sorts with{{ form|without('sort_by', 'sort_order') }}

I can create an issue fork

Also one setting to not forget is to set the exposed form to be in a block so it doesn't render on the view itself.
I added the Simple search form module to the project page, so closing this issue.
