fixer.io changed its API endpoint?

Created on 19 November 2022, over 1 year ago
Updated 1 May 2024, about 2 months ago

Problem/Motivation

fixer.io is now available on and bundled with https://apilayer.com/, and the API endpoints promoted were changed. The key for communicating is named apikey, not access_key and using apikey as access_key does not work and does not know where to get the access_key which makes the current fixer exchanger provider not work as expected.

Not sure do we need to replace it? Fixer.io is still working.

And you can't move your subscription from Fixer.io to ApiLayer. Seems ApiLayer only provides access to multiple APIs, but still fixer.io is a separate service.

I don't see any announcements on fixer.io that are not supported anymore.

Will close this as outdated. If you want to use APILayer, I suggest that you create an exchanger plugin as a separate Drupal contrib module.

It should be straightforward because it's very similar to fixer.io.

Additional documentation for the plugin system can be found here https://git.drupalcode.org/project/commerce_exchanger/-/tree/2.0.x?ref_t...
