The patch in comment #2 does not replace README.txt with README.md. It just deletes README.txt without replacing it with anything.
That kavitha@specbee.com claims it "works fine" just confirms that he doesn't review anything when moving issues to RTBC. He just changes status blindly, and hopes that automatic issue credit will kick on to boost his issue credit score.

The patch in comment #2 does not contains any update. But new Version 8.x-2.x released on 2 August 2023. It has READMe.md. So This issue may be closed.
