404 errors in the myurl.com/public://css/optimized/

Getting 404 errors with the JS and CSS optimized folders when the Advanced CSS/JS Aggregation plugin is activated. I am seeing the public:// url attached to the file path instead of /sites/all/default/files/

Activate Advanced CSS/JS Aggregation plugin > Site styles and JS break > seeing the public:// url attached to the file path instead of /sites/all/default/files/

Something similar is happening for me when
The CSS and JS checkboxes on the performance page are unchecked
and Advagg is enabled
i am getting https://myurls/full path from root to the optimized files
