Workflow history disappears when an entity is moved to another site version.
- create two site versions, "source" and "destination"
- in "source", create and save a new content, "article"
- transition "article" to a new workflow state, entering a log message
- move "article" from "source" to "destination"
- switch to "destination"
- visit the article
- verify you still see the log you entered
