This is a good feature to add to the next version of Acquia DAM. It won't be implemented in the legacy version however.
Right now on version 2 of the module all users have the ability to authorize with acquia dam on their user edit page. While this does not guarantee them access to the dam it can be undesirable. This is especially true for sites with users who are clients and not intended to have dam access.
