Thank you for your work and effort on this module.
As useful as it is for Drupal, I suspect it will be equally useful for Backdrop, and in fact, I have a project on which I believe this module will be quite handy, and so I have ported it.
If any of the maintainers are interested in maintaining or co-maintaining the Backdrop port, let me know.
If not, I am willing to maintain or co-maintain the Backdrop version.
