Although old, I tried to reproduce it and it just worked, and this module is not doing much with the entered expression.
This module seems exactly what I'm looking for (I hope). but having an issue getting any of the expressions to apply.
For example REGEXP_REPLACE(block_content__field_name.field_name_value, 'Dr. |Mr. |Mrs |Ms. |Miss |Lt. |CAPT |Capt |CDR |Cdr. |LCDR |Lt. |Cdr. |Cdr. ', '')
This works in another module where I called addField but here it doesn't apply. I placed a breakpoint inside the query function of the plugin and it never gets called it seems.
Any help would be appreciated.
