We can remove that hook api at the very least, I've committed that with you attributed.

The project page needs updates:
- Looks like the API and Plugin information has to be dropped, as the module doesn't seem to provide any API and doesn't define custom plugin types,
-README.mdshould be updated for the same reasons. - Status changed to Needs review
