In the Decoupled and integration survey → results a lot of people want more customization in their jsonapi requests. What was missing is what kind of customizations we are talking about.
I tried to find out in Drupal Portland, but the amount of feedback on this I found was minimal. I'd like to use this issue to find out how people are customizing Drupal's JSON:API and for what purpose. Also what customizations do you want to do, but can't? This to hopefully find out what (or if) we need to expose more API's to make the API as usable as possible

I second #8 1./2. "Make it possible to filter content by moderation_state and other fields"
I know computed fields are special ... but from a users point of view it just does not make any sense to implement a core workflow module, which is central to the entire CMS and then not be able to automate moderation_states...
