Problem/Motivation

📌 Switch from the deprecated Swift Mailer module replaced by Symfony Mailer Fixed
📌 Start a 10.0.x branch to use the Symfony Mailer module as the default emailing system with Varbase 10.0.x Fixed

#Back-compatibility

The symfony_mailer_bc module adds back-compatibility. It replaces the default mail system, so that all Drupal emails will be sent via Symfony Mailer. In this case you must uninstall mailsystem module, which conflicts as it also replaces the mail system. The supported modules page can guide you as to which modules are compatible when used in this way.

Symfony Mailer Back-compatibility module cannot be installed because the Mail System module is installed and incompatible.

Proposed resolution

  • Do not enable the Mail System module. To switch to Symfony Mailer Back-compatibility only on the Varbase 9.0.x branch
  • Remove the Mail System module from the install list
  • Enable the Symfony Mailer Back-compatibility by default in the Varbase Email 9.1.x branch
  • Use Symfony Mailer to manage multiple SMTP services for each module, entity type, or custom newsletter service.
