I guess homebox still uses a lot of jquery for the frontend. Instead it should use the core vanilla js libraries where ever possible. Especially for drag / drop etc.

We're planning (and so far do) to not use jQuery in Homebox 3.0! 🎉
3.0.x presumably will work without jQuery, so let's close this fixed.
