Make auto sources configurable

I'm here for the concern #3 raised. Thank you #4 for the patch. New to Drupal, so sorry for the noob question, but what's the process for getting the patch adopted into the default module code? I'm not asking how to apply the patch. I want to know how a patch becomes 'core code' for the module.

I tested the patch. It's working. (See 3256257-test-1.png)

Thanks for Patch #8 also applies on 8.x-1.21 without issue.

Any chance we can roll this forward or better yet merge it? :-) It is not applying to 2.1.0
