I think I've gotten this mostly working but I'm not releasing it yet. I pulled the latest dev branch to work on this. Thanks for the recent updates.
I really like using this module in Drupal sites, so since I work quite a bit with Backdrop I would love to see this work in Backdrop. I'm attempting to make it work. If anyone would like to help it would be great. I'm finding that since there is no field_config table in a Backdrop database (field configuration is json), that I've got to unwind the use of that.
