Domain Access: Unable to access node preview

Created on 7 December 2021, almost 4 years ago
Updated 16 August 2025, about 2 months ago

Drupal Version 9.2.10

Domain module version 8.x-1.0-beta6

Expected Behavior

Users able to edit nodes should also be able to view the edited node in preview mode.

Actual Behavior

After setting up proper permissions for users to edit nodes on assigned domains, they are not able to access the preview mode of the edited node. A 403 (access denied) page is displayed instead. This doesn't concern users with "Bypass content access control" or users who have "Editor for all affiliates" enabled.

Steps to reproduce

  • Create 2 new domains
  • Set up a content type and with "Preview before submitting" as "Optional"
  • Create a user with a non-administrator role and assign either domain
  • Set permissions for the role to be able to edit nodes of that type on assigned domains
  • Create a node to the same domain and try to edit and preview it with as the user
  • User is able to edit but not able to preview it
