Issue when I use it with layout builder

I have a issue that I am running into when I use layout builder to make a teaser display for a view page. I set the view to show "teaser" then modify the teaser view mode on the content type. If I do not use layout builder it is working perfectly however when I use layout builder I am getting the following:

And no fallback image shows up.

Any idea where to begin searching for a fix for this or has anyone else run into a similar issue?
