Menu-Icon White on White

Created on 26 August 2021, about 3 years ago
Updated 5 May 2024, 7 months ago

Problem/Motivation

Leaving the header-area undefined, the menu-icon is displayed white on white. Dragging the mouse over the header area reveals the position of the icon, but this isn't even on option on SmartDevices.

Steps to reproduce

Use "do not apply theme" and "do not apply colour" for "NAVBAR OPTIONS".
(Using "dark theme" without applying color to the background also fades the site name.)

Go to Home page.

I tried to replicate it as per the description but it is not replicating. It seems that the "Body Theme" and the "Navbar Theme" options combination were chosen wrongly. Attaching screenshots for confirmation.

This bug was created for an older version a long time ago but This is working as accepted for me in the latest version 3.x.

Please read my initial post and try for yourself. If things work now, all is fine. But if you have to make the changes you show in your screenshots, there will always be people having (unnecessary) problems. Better make sure things behave when the header area is left undefined. That's why I submitted this issue. I wasn't asking for a workaround, but a solution.

To answer your question: I never had a problem with this behavior, but I got accustomed to all the quirks and I usually dig my way out of a strange situation. However, I think things should work for Joe Average without having to subscribe a college course on how to use a certain module or theme in Drupal.

    Thanks for opening the issue.
    Need few clarifications

    • Which version are you using? Please update to match your current version
    • So the issue is you are uploading white icon to white background and can not see the icon? If not, can you clarify the issue?
  • 🇦🇹Austria nofue

No, I didn't upload anything, but just changed the background colors of certain areas to see the effect. In a certain combination of settings, the (default) white logo was put on a white background.

I've done a lot of work with my Bootstrap5 subtheme since 2021 and I can't tell what combination of settings lead to that phenomenon. As nobody cared for my report until 10 months ago, I can't tell anymore what happened two and half year ago with Version 1.0.0 …

@nofue version 1.0.0 is no longer supported.
If you can replicate the functionality on current active version, feel free to reopen the issue. 🕯️
