Even tho I have translated the message in interface translation, it still appears in English.
"Your order number is [commerce_order:order_number]. You can view your order on your account page when logged in."

I tried to fiddle with TWIG to work around it, but I don't know if it's even possible to place a translatable string in TWIG that includes a Drupal token like this.

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
Thanks @Berdir, I was just looking for the same and indeed for the default checkout flow, the translation is possible like this.
But for custom checkout flows the message can't be translated, it's missing in the "Translate" tab. I prepared an issue with screenshots:
