Unsure. I opened 🐛 SHS 2.0.x compatiblity Active a few weeks ago to try to get some advice from the maintainers of that module since it seems like it should be fixed on that end, but haven't gotten a response.
I'm including a patch so that can be applied to SHS so the 2.0.x-dev branch can be used with webform_shs in case this helps someone else. I'm happy to put some time into fixing this, but I'm unsure what needs to happen on the webform_shs side to remain compatible with this change.
Any advice would be appreciated.

The above patch unhides the label but the label doesn't indicate a "*" when the filed in required. I have created a patch which adds the 'js-'form-required' and 'form-required' classes to the label when the field is required.
