The `public/core_compare` directory is result from `composer status` command.
My installation (Drupal 8.9.15) has a sibling directory to /web/core named /web/core_compare, containing almost identical content.
Is this anything to do with Drupal, or has something else entirely separate created it? Is there any reason why I should not just delete it?
