I feel that the Drupal 9 version has been tested and tried and that with #3220598: Fix compatibility with Drupal 9 in the main 8.x-1.x branch → you will find that issues have probably been fixed. This commit did happen in September after you originally reported this issue, so it's likely.
If you could open an issue with some specifics if you are still having the issue, that would be awesome. I'll do my best to help you there.
