Drupal 9 Release?

Since D8 is now EoL, it makes sense to port to D9/10. Is there any interest in this effort? The current D8 branch codebase looks like it was abandoned 2 years ago.

There was a major break in core between D7 and D8, that is the "port" I am referring to. It's just a matter of terminology - of course D8 isn't he main target anymore, but the changes that were necessary for going to D8 from D7 are still necessary for going to D9 and D10. That work remains to be done, and that was the point of my comment.

This project isn't "abandoned", it's just that there is absolutely no community interest or participation so all effort has stagnated. For example, there are a lot of issues with patches that need to be reviewed or that need tests written, and there has been absolutely no-one commenting on those issues in years. No one is requesting new features, no one is answering questions, no one is contributing at all. It seems silly to keep writing new patches and developing new features when no one is using them.

If there are people out there who need this, they haven't made themselves known. And if people are using this software for commercial purposes, they don't seem to value it enough to contribute back to the community in any way.

If you want to help, I will be glad to review and commit patches.

I would also like to use it on the new drupal versions, because it is a well distributed module.

I'm also interested in their D10 version!

although I'm not a maintainer on this project I feel it is safe to say this module is note going to be ported. Commerce → has really superseded this module.

I will repeat myself: Much of Ubercart already works in D9 but there is still some amount of code that had not yet been ported.

The thing that prevents the completion is that the community of users does not seem to want the completed port. That is, is no community participation in this project at all for many years, and without community participation this module will not progress any further.

So rather than "won't fix", which implies the maintainers have ruled out doing the port, I've changed this to "postponed" because with sufficient participation or funding this work can be easily accomplished. It's just a matter of someone in the community deciding that they're willing to put real effort or money into a project that has enabled their business for many years.

since you are saying there is a a 'stable dev' version, why not release it so that those in your community may feel like there is a purpose in participating still -- today! and them close this issue. let new issues carry this board, not just this one ticket.
