I have a link field which is added to my message type and then filled in with a uri and title in code. I have a message "tpl" (when i edit the message) filled out and uses the token for this field. The Notify - Email Body has only the Partial 1 "field" enabled.
This works fine except that my link text is clipped.
If add the link field to the body view mode and set it to not be clipped; it displays correctly.
So I am confused by a couple things here.
1. Why is Partial 1 required? Why can't i just type text into my message tpl and enable the fields i want and then place them where i like? (in which case i could use the field formatters at my displosal)
2. And, guessing there is some reason that Partial 1 is required (although seems like a tpl within a tpl??) then where am i allowed to set formatting of my link (or is this a bug and hard coded into message notify module)?
I thought it might be the text format being used on the Message Text (body) textarea in the "message template"; but this seems to have no impact.

The Link is clipped because of how Core works. You found that you can use the title and uri from the link.
