Currently the Read More button becomes deactivated when an existing div in CKEditor is selected. In the code comments, it says this is to prevent nesting.
I wonder if the goal is just to prevent nesting, if we can specify to check for a div with class "ckeditor-readmore"? I have a use case where I'd like to add a Read More button inside of an unrelated div.
I've made a patch and will upload shortly.
