Reading the description of this issue, the goal seems to be to be able to show the publication *status* of the node (published/unpublished) rather than the moderation *state*. Displaying the publication status is now possible, thanks to the core change in ✨ Add a token for publication status Fixed .
As for the ability to display the moderation state, as the issue title implies, I've thought about this and can't see a value or implementation for this in the context of Linkit's autocomplete. The moderation state of the current revision will not tell you any more information, really than the publication status, and if we showed the moderation state of the most recent revision, that would just be confusing for people trying to link to published pages.
