Payment amount field "select options" widget not updating total amount field

The select options widget for the payment field is not sending the selected option amount(s) to the the total amount field, which shows $0 no matter what. Therefore you cannot use the select options widget at all for Contribution Amounts.

Create a webform with a CiviCRM contribution field, go to the webform and edit the Contribution Amount field, choose the Select Option widget, create 2 or more options, save the form, try to use one or more of the options, see that the total amount field remains at $0 no matter what choices are made.

I do not have the expertise to figure out how to fix this issue.
