On october 24th Facebook changed their Facebook and Instagram Oembed API's. They now require an app to work.

Enable Facebook or Instagram as a provider and paste a Facebook or Instagram URL in a long text field.
Add the ability to add the app ID and secret key in the settings of the module and use those to make the correct call to embed.
