Works only with flat lists

Problem/Motivation

tried to use it with a hierarchical taxonomy, but it shows all the terms no matter what,
it only works if the filter show the list as a flat list without hierarchy

Steps to reproduce

  • add a tanonomy
  • add terms parent and childrens
  • add a related term field to a content type
  • in the view, add a filter for that content type and
  • add an exposed filter for the above related taxonomy term field , select under "Selection type"
    • "Dropdown" and
    • "Show hierarchy in dropdown"
  • configure BEF for the above filter as follows:
    • Exposed filter widget: default
    • Show only used terms: checked
