We are now recommending migrate_plus 6.x after alpha6.
It appears migrate_plus 5.x updates some things to work around a deprecation.

Given that we are still on 'alpha' it is within the rules to switch to a new branch.
I noticed messages coming off my IDE that I think are related to this issue. So it should be explored.
