Let's say we have a case, where we display a grid of logos, which point to an external page and we have the setting "Place an icon next to external links." + "Place an icon next to image links. ". In this case, the ext icon will get displayed, but looks ugly and we want to hide it for those cases.
The setting "Exclude links inside these CSS selectors." is not fine for this purpose, as it actually disables the extlink functionality, like opening the link in a new window/tab.
I'd suggest we extend the settings under "CSS MATCHING." with a new setting like "Hide icons inside these CSS selectors.", which would in turn hide or better, not render the extllink icon, but just the visually-hidden label, for UX/accecssibility purposes.
