I hope that someone can give me a small hint to fix the following issue.
I created a simplenews newsletter for anonymous users and tried to include an image inside the simplenews body.
The image is included with the absolute path inside message body. When I copy the entire URL in a new browser window, I can grab the image without errors. so the file is accessable. When I view the node of that test newsletter, the image is included like it should.
But when I received the test-mail from this newsletter(mimemail module to get html mail), the image is missing, but the placeholder with the width and height of that image is there.
I don't know if its a mimemailer or a simplenews problem. Maybe I missed something to configure it right.
Hopefully someone can give me some help to figure that out.

I see this sometimes in version 4.1.0 and it only happens with some emails. When I view the newsletter on the website, the URL to the image is correct. When it appears to be missing in the email, it is because the image has an extra . after the image name like:
Scripps..jpeg?itok=sO8bNiHV
I don't know why this happens for some images and not all images if this is a programmatic problem.
