Seems like one of the latest commits has broken field group support. I'm using field_group_8.x-3.0 and just updated to paragraphs_8.x-1.12. Field groups inside paragraphs don't work anymore since. Switching back to 1.11 brings back full functionality.

I did encounter the same issue.
Field group still seems to have that function and paragraphs is calling it. Paragraphs is in my project the only one referencing that functon.
