I wish this feature wasn't abandoned. I'm having trouble with low level of admin users that can change the settings.
Plus I'm using an edit form with tabs, and the theme settings section appears in every tabs.
I want to be able to selectively allow user roles to access the user settings for the theme. Therefore I'd like to have a bunch of permissions that can be assigned to user roles and only users with a certain role then can access their theme settings.
