I'm wondering if this is still relevant and the case, if nobody else run into this ever?
I get a cross-origin request error in Chrome and Firefox, regardless if the origin is identical. It randomly popped up with more recent updates. I am not sure if this is a bug or a security feature.
In any case, it seems like it might be a better idea to use postMessage anyways.
