In Drupal 7, with the Bulk Media Upload → module, a module very similar to Media Bulk Upload, you could upload a bunch of files and a new node, taxonomy term, or other entity will be created for every file.
For example, you could upload a bunch of images and automatically generate individual Photo content for each image. This would be a great feature to have in this module.

Thank you for the feature request. We are trying to keep this module pretty simple, so I am closing this as "works as designed" for now. If someone does want this feature, they can reopen and provide a patch or MR and we can reconsider at that point.
