After required API update, "Must supply a valid HTTP Basic Authorization header"

Hello Campaign Monitor required us to update to the new longer API keys, which I did.
Afterwards, I got these errors message on the site:
"Unable to fetch lists from Campaign monitor."
and on the lists page this one: "Must supply a valid HTTP Basic Authorization header"

I saw the bug report about the api field not being long enough so applied that patch and am able to include the full extra-long new API code, however, I still get the some error messages and all of the lists I had on there are gone.
