Ability to Clone Layouts across different displays

Back in Drupal 7, there was a great feature with Display Suite, allowing the Cloning of Display Field Layouts across different display modes (Full content, Teaser....etc..)

When working on complex or rather forms with lots of fields, it becomes a tedious job to create similar variants, as designer has to create each display layout from scratch.

Solution
There should be an ability to clone the display settings from-to different display modes.

I hope this usability requirement takes consideration, and should not be difficult to implement.

    This is possible with a contributed module like https://www.drupal.org/project/section_library → . I think since this already exists in a contrib module it's not something that needs adding to core.

    I think that should meet the requirements for this particular issue. Marking as postponed while that module can be evaluated.
