Still the case unfortunately.
Steps to reproduce on a fresh installation (I'm using BLT + Lightning fresh install):
1. Add a new basic page.
2. Save as published.
3. View admin > content and note that it says published
4. Edit and save as draft.
5. View admin > content and note that it says published when it should say draft
6. Edit the page, notice it is, in-fact, still showing it is in draft
Expected outcome: The admin > content listing should show the node in draft state

It's likely this issue predates Contrib.social: some issue and comment data are missing.
