Error When Enabling Redirect to Registered Users

Created on 29 October 2019, over 4 years ago
Updated 6 April 2024, 3 months ago

Version: front 8.x-1.x-dev 10 JUL 2018
OS: CentOS 7

An improvement over the March version that didn't work for me at all; it appeared to catenate the drupal home page to itself.

I can redirect the front page to an alias for anonymous users . But if I add the default home page to registered users, I receive this message immediately when going to the home page:

"The page isn’t redirecting properly"

"Waterfox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

"This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies."

Note: I checked my options and cookies are allowed on the site.

I'll provide screenshots and/or info, , if possible, upon request.

@othdvlpr could you please check 10.x and prepare a MR for that, if it's still needed?

I'm no longer using CentOS, but I am running Drupal 10.2.25 under Ubuntu Server and Windows 10 linux. I downloaded, installed and tested
this module, per the above request, without success. I had to de-install it under Windows Linux to enable my homepage to reappear. No parameter combination that I tried showed the desired homepage for anonymous users.
My original home page in Basic site settings is '/node'; the page for anonymous users is '/node/3'. The latter entry in the front page module only yields 'Access Denied'.
Please let me know if additional information is needed.
