Length Indicator seems to support only textfields and plain (unformated) textareas. Would be nice if also formatted text areas where supported – for example similar to how it is by Textfield Counter → , see textfield_counter/js/textfield_counter.js.

I'm trying to get length editor to work with a formatted text field without any success.
I'd like clarification regarding which fields this module works with so that I'm not wasting my time trying to get it to work on fields with which it is incompatible.
1) Does this only work with plain text fields?
2) Can we include some documentation to this effect on the project page or in the readme?
