Integrate with MyTube module for GDPR compliance

TL;DR

This is a feature request for D8 and D7 version to integrate video_embed_field with MyTube module → privacy enhancements for external resources like iframes e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, ... videos which receive a placeholder instead of loading the source. See MyTube module →

Where to put it?

I created an issue in the MyTube module already but decided to create one here too, to prevent parallel discussion. We should please decide if a possible submodule for integration belongs into MyTube or into video_embed_field and close one of the issues then as duplicate and reference for users who are looking for a solution.

I could imagine to solve it by

• A submodule or setting in the MyTube module (mytube_video_embed_field) OR in video_embed_field (video_embed_field_myvideo)
• Generally activate it that way for all video_embed_fields OR create field formatters with MyTube support
