When password is reset 'Authenticated' role is being displayed in the people list

In the people view (/admin/people) 'Authenticated' roles is not displayed, all users have that role by default but it is not displayed in the view.
When a password is reset for a particular user using reset link sent to the email. That user has the role of 'Authenticated' displayed in the people view.

Scenario 1: Before the password is reset

Also, now if edit the user and save the role 'Authencated user' is not displayed. Not sure why this is happening.

    Thanks to everyone for the work on this issue.

    I'm going through all the 8.x issues.

    As the 8.x is no longer supported, I'm postponing this issue for now and need feedback as to whether or not this issue is relevant to 4.0.x.

    If it is, please reopen and change the version, and make sure the issue summary is clear and complete, including concrete steps to reproduce. If it's not, please close.

    If there is no response to this in a month addressing the above, it can be closed.
