presenting a long term theme suggestion for future Core versions.
I'm working on a new site. I am more familiar with D6 & D7 than I am with D8, Mobile-first was the primary consideration.
I started with the Umami example. It was a great way to see the new features of D8, thank you all. I flipped over to Bootstrap, for a clean, simple look while building the site. I find Bootstrap easy on the eyes during the long screen time hours on a new build.
I have seen several Drupal Core packaged example themes come and go over the years, all good. But, what if we had two packaged themes for Core, instead of reaching out and changing them over and over.
1) Bare Bone Basic Version
2) A new Deluxe Version (a "Show & Tell") - demonstrating the features of this new Core Drupal version
addition thoughts:
1) both themes would always pass 'current' security advisory policies
2) perhaps a 'Summer of Code' project?
3) a theme color changer build-in

Does the current state roughly meet this vision? We have starterkit to provide a bare bones theme, and Olivero for deluxe.
I think this is largely going to be addressed by the XB design system.
