I agree that it might make sense to keep some of this functionality separate, as long as it plays nice with the SF Suite webform integration. SF Suite is such a beast that it's hard to justify adding the complexity to its webform submodule.
On the other hand, there hasn't been any movement to port this module and it looks like it has been closed out according to the Drupal 8 Contrib Porting Tracker → .
I asked in #2911688 📌 8.x version Fixed if anyone knows about efforts to get this feature going for current Drupal projects to see if we can get any traction on this, one way or another.
