Updated 17 July 2023, over 1 year ago

The each() function is deprecated. This message will be suppressed on further calls in SimplenewsSpool->nextSource() (regel 273 van /data/sites/web/lsvobe/www/sites/all/modules/simplenews/includes/simplenews.source.inc).

This popped up this morning in my logbook. I don't know if this issue already has been resolved. could not find the solution.

Thank you for the work on the patch. I've just implemented it, as I'd had to recently upgrade the server to PHP8.1 and sending out Simplenews caused Cron runs to fail.

Probably worth committing the patch ASAP, as there's at least 18 months' life left in the 7.x version of this module. Certainly warrants the 'Critical' priority.

There are people still using Drupal 7, the patch works, can someone merge this?

It is clear that the maintainers no longer use Drupal 7. I'd recommend - if you want the 15 or so RTBC issues to be merged - to apply to be a co-maintainer for the Drupal 7 branch.. Although, 2 months from now, I suspect that Drupal.org will mark all Drupal 7 projects as unsupported, and probably start dismantling the D7 infrastructure.
