staticmaperror

To save the berevement/gardening charity I'm working for money I wanted to use this module instead of always displaying a fancy map (as seems to be the only option with geofield_map at the moment) I wanted to display a static map (which I think are free). Because the map items are gardens geocoding an address isn't accurate enough so I am using geofield_map's reverse encoding to get a lat/long pair, and then using computed field to create a plain text version of this for simple_gmap.

so far so good, the field_location (geofield) is being copied to the field_map (computed text) using $value = $fields['field_location'][0]['value'];

when I view the node however I'm getting a blue map with "g.co/staticmaperror"... however when I click view larger map I do get a google map with the pin in the right location so I think my computed text field is presenting what's needed???

it may well be something simple. help appreciated.
