Node with alias of "/" causes edit link to be "example.com/edit" causing a 404

If I create a node and set it's alias to "/" (for a homepage for example), then the edit link for that node becomes "/edit" with subpathauto enabled. This is invalid and leads to a 404.

Added check to ensure processed path is not empty string/null. Seems to resolve that issue.
