Based on the feedback in #2582295-55: Confirmation cancel links are incorrect if installed in a subdirectory → , I think this could be improved a bit first to handle langcode prefixes in the URL.
Drupal is installed in domain sub-folder /drupal8 . From the content list view at /drupal8/admin/content the edit link can be
/drupal8/node/1/edit?destination=/drupal8/admin/content
Arriving there the expected cancel button directs to /drupal8/admin/content but this bug causes it to be
/drupal8/drupal8/admin/content
