I installed this module at the request of a customer who has been very happy with the features provided.
However after 4 months of use (and log retention set to never expire) the module table in the db takes up to 33 % of the space and my daily db backup to fail. Once I excluded the data of the visitors table the backup job worked fine again.
I suggested decreasing the log retention but it seems to not be an option unless the data can be backup up offline, like in a CSV file. So my question is how would you guys go at exporting the data for this module?

I understand the concern about the size of the logs taken up. Matomo uses an archive process to limit the size of the logs.
Implementing something similar in Visitors will require a custom ViewsQuery plugin.
Matomo creates a table for each year-month of statistics. This would help limit the size of backups.
