IΒ΄m coming from d7 module epsa crop which I heavilly used but is not available for drupal 8.
That module offered the option to reuse an image crop that I had configured for one specific image style, again for any image styles.
The benefit from that was that the content author had to crop the image only once for a responsive image style, not for every image style that is involved in the responsive image style package.

Right now I can not achieve this feature with image widget crop.
Or am I wrong?

Thanks

@4kant did you find a solution?
I am migrating a D7 site and would like to be able to reuse crops for users no to have to make 4 variations that it has for different screens.
I have searched in this module and others and I don't find a solution.
    Thanks

As the original poster of this issue I can state that, for my usecase, the answer of #8 (thanks @to bkosborne !) fits best/exactly to what I had been looking for:
You do not reuse single image styles anymore as you did in D7.
In D9/10 and the crop API you can instead

    • with manual crop: (re)use single crop entities
    • or with focal point: set the with and height

    for each image style

Of course as soon as you need cropping for different aspect ratios you may need one extra crop entity for each aspect ratio (in case you use manual crops).
